Rebuilding trust in CX data: A roadmap for the agentic era

These roles don’t replace existing leadership. They complement it and embed trust into everyday workflows.

5. Design human-agent collaboration with intent

High-performing organizations don’t remove humans from decision-making. They elevate them to where judgment matters most. They design for human-in-the-loop and human-on-the-loop patterns:

  • AI agents execute, recommend, and coordinate at speed.
  • Humans provide judgment, escalation, and accountability.
  • Feedback loops continuously improve data quality and agent behavior.

This collaboration model connects orchestrated intelligence, governance, and economic accountability. Trust grows because autonomy is intentional, explainable, and governed.

6. Manage economic governance to sustain trust

As AI agents scale, costs grow across data pipelines, embeddings, inference, orchestration, and continuous execution. To keep trust intact, treat cost management as economic governance for AI. This means:

  • Measuring ROI at the level of agentic workflows, not individual models
  • Linking data, model, and agent costs directly to business outcomes like revenue lift, conversion, retention, and productivity
  • Establishing shared accountability across the Chief AI Officer, the data and analytics office, and finance

Organizations don’t lose trust because AI is expensive. They lose trust when they can’t explain why it’s worth the investment.
